Victorian drivers caught a break this week. Prices fell across every fuel type, with metro U91 dropping 9.7c to land at 214.2c/L and diesel shedding a hefty 10.8c to reach 311.2c/L. It's the second consecutive week of falls for metro U91, and the downward trend held right through to Sunday.

Biggest Fuel Price Movers in VIC This Week

Diesel and E10 shared the prize for the sharpest weekly fall, both down 10.8c in metro areas. That's a meaningful shift for tradies and fleet drivers who've been staring down diesel above 320c all month.

The daily trend tells a clean story: prices slid consistently from Monday through to Sunday with no mid-week spikes or reversals. Metro U91 opened the week at 220.5c/L on Monday the 13th and finished at 207.6c/L by Sunday the 19th, a drop of nearly 13c across seven days.

Diesel followed the same path, falling from 320c/L on Monday to 300.7c/L by Sunday.

P95 eased steadily too, from 235.3c/L to 222.8c/L across the week.

E10 was a standout for budget-conscious drivers, finishing Sunday at just 204c/L metro, its lowest point of the week.

P98 dropped from 245.1c/L to 232.2c/L across the seven days, giving premium fuel users some genuine relief.

It's also worth flagging that a spike in out-of-stock reports has emerged this week. Across VIC, 189 station-fuels are currently flagged as dry, compared to none last week. LPG is the most affected with 48 stations reporting no stock, followed by diesel at 38 stations. If you run on diesel, it's a good idea to check availability before making the trip, since a handful of stations may not have it on the day you arrive.

The gap between the cheapest and most expensive metro stations this week is extraordinary. United Truganina is sitting at 181.7c/L for U91, while Astron Langwarrin is charging 400c/L. Confidence sits at 77% for Monday and drops to 61% by Wednesday, so treat the Wednesday figure as a guide rather than a guarantee. These forecasts are for metro VIC only.

Nationally, VIC is currently the most expensive state for metro U91, sitting 4.2c above the national average of 210c/L and ahead of even WA, which is the cheapest state at 204.4c/L.

How to Save on Fuel in VIC Right Now

With prices still falling and E10 already touching 204c/L metro, drivers who can use E10 are in the best position right now. If your car is compatible, that's likely your cheapest option this week. If you're on U91, the forecast suggests waiting until mid-week could save you another 10c/L compared to where prices started on Monday.

Don't forget the brand gap. Nearly 20 cents separates the cheapest and priciest metro brands, so choosing where you fill up is just as important as when.
