That's four consecutive weeks of falling U91 metro prices, and the trend hasn't shown any sign of reversing just yet.

Biggest Movers in QLD Fuel Prices This Week

Diesel was the standout this week. A drop of 19.4 cents in metro areas and 18.4 cents in rural QLD is the kind of relief truckers and tradespeople don't see very often. Despite the fall, metro diesel still sits at 249.7 c/L, a premium of 68.2 cents over metro U91. That's a wide gap, and it will sting anyone running a diesel vehicle regularly.

U91 drifted steadily lower across the week, from 182.6 c/L on Monday the 27th down to 180.9 c/L by Saturday. No mid-week spikes, no surprise reversals. Just a clean, consistent slide.

E10 remains the cheapest option on metro forecourts at 178.7 c/L, making it worth checking whether your car is compatible if you're not already using it. P95 came in at 197.2 c/L and P98 at 205.8 c/L for the week.

QLD Metro Station Price Range: Shop Around and Save

The metro spread this week tells a familiar story: where you fill up matters enormously. The cheapest metro station came in at 169.9 c/L (7-Eleven Greenslopes) while the most expensive reached 259.9 c/L (Independent Monkland Store). That's a 90 cent gap between the two extremes. Nobody should be paying top dollar when better options are a short detour away.

Looking at brand averages, Pearl Energy averaged 175.0 c/L across 14 metro stations, U-Go averaged 176.1 c/L across 8 stations, and Metro Fuel averaged 176.9 c/L across 14 stations. Shell averaged 184.9 c/L, nearly 10 cents more than the cheapest brands. That difference adds up fast over a full tank.

Prices are tipped to ease further from the current 181.5 c/L down to 179.1 c/L on Monday (78% confidence), 178.4 c/L on Tuesday (71% confidence), and 177.6 c/L on Wednesday (65% confidence). That'd put metro U91 comfortably near the lower end of the 30-day range, which has a floor of 169.9 c/L.

Compared to the rest of the country, QLD metro U91 at 181.5 c/L sits just 0.8 cents above the national average of 180.7 c/L, with South Australia the cheapest state at 175.1 c/L and the ACT the priciest at 183.6 c/L.

Prices are heading in the right direction, but there's still real money on the table depending on where and when you fill up. If you can hold off a couple of days, the forecast suggests metro U91 could dip below 178 c/L by mid-week. Choosing an E10-compatible vehicle gives you the cheapest weekly average at 178.7 c/L metro. And with a 10 cent gap between the cheapest and priciest metro brands, it's worth checking a few options before you pull in.

Supply is largely stable across the state. Premium diesel (PDiesel) saw a small uptick in out-of-stock reports this week, up from 10 to 13 stations, so if that's your fuel, it's worth confirming your usual station has stock before making a trip.
