Every fuel type fell steadily across the week without a single spike or reversal, which is unusual and genuinely good news. Metro U91 slid from 167.5c/L on Monday the 8th all the way to 162.6c/L by Sunday, a clean 4.9-cent drop across seven days. Rural prices moved in the same direction but more slowly, easing from 179.0c/L to 175.9c/L over the same period.

Diesel told a similar story, with metro prices drifting from 200.5c/L down to 195.7c/L by Sunday. The diesel premium over U91 is sitting at 33.3 cents in metro areas, which is notably wide and a real cost for tradies and small businesses running diesel vehicles.

P95 dropped 6.9 cents to 181.4c/L metro, while P98 fell 6.8 cents to 189.2c/L. Both premium grades tracked the broader downward trend cleanly through the week.

NSW metro U91 is sitting 2.6 cents below the national metro average of 166.8c/L this week, which puts the state in a solid middle position. South Australia is the cheapest in the country at 158.8c/L, while ACT drivers are copping the most with 174.6c/L.

The spread between the cheapest and priciest metro stations this week is remarkable. The lowest metro price recorded was 121.9c/L at Shell Condell Park, while the dearest was 209.9c/L at Independent Brooklyn Central.
