Biggest Movers in NSW Petrol Prices This Week

Diesel is the standout story in a good way. Metro diesel dropped 8.7c to 231.3c/L, and rural diesel fell an even larger 10.4c to 239.8c/L. That's meaningful relief for tradies, freight operators, and anyone towing a van up the highway. The metro diesel premium over U91 still sits at a hefty 44.8c, so it's not cheap, but the direction is encouraging.

On the petrol side, the daily data tells an interesting story. Metro U91 actually dipped to its weekly low of 183.1c on Tuesday the 12th before climbing steadily through the week. By Saturday and Sunday the 16th and 17th, it had jumped to 190.4c, a surge of more than 7 cents in just four days. Rural U91 moved the opposite way, easing from 189.8c on Monday down to 187.9c by the weekend.

For context, NSW is currently 4.5c above the national metro U91 average of 182c/L, making it the priciest state in the country right now. SA is the cheapest at 177.6c/L.
